Restaurants, bars, cafes.. dont know how many hundreds of thousands places there is to eat. But this is not a food blog and I wont start sharing secrets of Catalan Kitchen in this text.. just a thing in my top 10.. and I do love to eat :) eating out is sooo much more nicer cheaper than in Finland and I miss a lot the restaurants bars and cafes in BCN.
One place I like a lot is called Mosquito.. small cozy restaurant in Borne with real taste of Asia. They have an open kitchen where you can watch Vietnamese ladies cook, menu is a small paper with just Asian names of dishes, price and you get a pencil to mark what you want and how many portions.. hih, funny game! lets take this and that.. you never know what u get! .. well they do have separated cold, warm and desserts..
Always busy. Always. As a waiting system they have a board where you write your name and number of persons.. we always thought they dont take reservations, but lately have learned they do, Ive never seen a table with a "reserved" on it, so I guess I just thought its not possible.
cheap, cozy, good food.. what else does one need?
Another thing I like about eating out in BCN is the Pintxo places, Tapas from the Basqlandia. Basqs and Catalans like each others and I like their restaurants! Barcelona has maaaaaany Pintxo places.. many! They are all a bit different, but the basics are the same. Little breads with a little stick on them and you pay by the amount of sticks you have. Usually all are priced the same.
Whats this? Thats Botifarra. Catalan blood sausagde, made with rice or onions. I said months Im not touching those.. but at the end I did.. and I wasnt so bad :)
Drinks are also nice in BCN.. not only Cava in this Cava world, but also Mojitos Mojitos Mojitos! everywhere Mojitos! What I also like is Sangria made of Cava..
Moritz is one of the many beers made in Barcelona, and they seem the have even their own sparkling water..
Anyhow.. what ever flavor continent or spice you want, its all there..
even a Swedish Restaurant called Pappa Sven who serves Swedish Tapas on Wednesdays.
One of my favorite Tapas is this, Patatas Bravas.. almost every bar has them.
Another thing I loooooove.. the pastry shops.. cheap and yummy!
and the fruit thats all over.. its fresh and tasty! Market Halls sells these drinks and ready made packages just crab and go.. and Fruit and Veggie shops are in every block.These fotos are from La Bocaria, the market hall in Las Ramblas.
as well as there is meat ham fish spices.. you name it its all there.
YES!
I love to eat and thats my number 5 why I love Barcelona!
I like Spanish food so much I even made a Look a Like dinner in Finland with my friends
With Cava Sangria.. Ofcourse!
